How to Create Tour du Mont Blanc Travel Diary Book

This summer, I decided to do a solo Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) loop. It is 165 km long, and it usually takes around 7-12 days to complete. I chose to be more flexible and brought a tent, aiming to finish it in 7 days.

I managed to complete the loop in 6 days, filled with many memorable moments. Sometimes it was hard, but overall, it was a very enjoyable and mind-cleansing experience. I would definitely call it an adventure. A good thing was that before the trip, I decided to write about it and keep a small personal travel diary. The Kikōbook app was perfect for that.

Every evening, while lying in my tent, I would put my day’s experience into words. At first, I was very attentive to details, grammar, and so on. But by the third day, I remembered that the app would handle proofreading, so I could just enjoy writing whatever came to mind. It became a very mindful activity that led me to appreciate the trip even more.

Almost every day offered a different landscape, and I took many picturesque photos. Most of them I included in the book as well.

While waiting for my flight back, I submitted everything for generation. The next day, I was able to check the first draft. I didn’t find any mistakes, as the AI probably did a very good job at proofreading. So, only rearranging the layout of the photos was left. It took me around 10 minutes (I was very particular about it), and that was it. I confirmed my draft and then forgot about it.

After two weeks, I got a message from my local post office that the book had arrived. It was very exciting to hold the paper with my memories in it. The quality of the book was excellent. I felt like a legitimate travel writer.

Next time I go on a longer trip or adventure, I won’t miss the chance to write about it. Having photo albums is nice, but words can convey a deeper meaning of the experience. This has become my new tradition.
